The cost is either a one-item minimum (that costs at least $5) or pay $5 cash upon arrival.

The mic is 5 minutes of stage time and an optional 1-2 minutes of feedback.

Slots are limited to 15 performers. By signing up to perform you agree to stay for the entire 60-90 minute open mic.

Please bring cash. Note - street parking at meters is free starting at 6pm.

Frequently asked questions

What's included in my $5 admission fee or 1 item minimum (that is at least $5?)

You get 5-minutes of stage time, 1-2 minutes of optional feedback on your jokes.

How does feedback work?

The open mic host, who is a seasoned comedian, will first give you ideas they have. Then the host will call on any other performers in the room to add in their thoughts as well. The goal is for it to feel like a mini writers room!

I don't want to perform. Can I just watch?

Sure, just buy an audience ticket instead.

I want to perform but I don't want feedback, can I still do this open nic?

Yes that's fine. Just say at the beginning of your set that you don't want notes. Just be aware you will NOT get extra stage time if you forego feedback.

I have to leave right after my set, is that okay?

This mic is meant for everyone to stay and be active as a writer even when they're not performing. So if you can't commit to staying for up to 90 minutes, please sign up for a different date when you can stay.

There's no more Performer tickets available. Can I still get on?

You can show up and we will put you on the standby list. If someone doesn't come by 6:05 you will get their spot.

I'm a musician. Can I perform at this open mic?

While this is geared towards comedians, if the mic is not full, yes you can do five minutes of music. Which is 1-2 songs depending on your song choice.

We’ve been teaching stand-up comedy for over fifteen years. We originally started as “Caroline’s Comedy School” but have since evolved into an independent comedy school teaching stand-up comedy classes in New York City and Westchester County.

Currently, our NYC classes meet on Manhattan’s Upper West Side near The Lincoln Center and our class shows are at various comedy clubs around Manhattan. Our Westchester classes and class graduation shows meet in Scarsdale, NY in the showroom of Jackie B's.
